Dr. Debbie Gladd Foley
RHEUMATOLOGIST

Dr. Foley is a Tulsa native.  She graduated from the University of Tulsa Nursing school, cum laude, in 1984 and pursued a career in critical care and nursing education, and even experienced a couple of years in hospital nursing administration.  She never stopped dreaming of becoming a physician, and at the age of 40, graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa.  Dr. Foley then went on to complete an Internal Medicine Residency at OSU Medical Center, where she was honored to serve as Chief Resident for the Internal Medicine Program.  After working for 2 years as an internist in a private practice rheumatology office, Dr. Foley was selected in 2007 to join the University of Oklahoma Rheumatology Department as a fellow.   She has enjoyed practicing as a rheumatologist in Tulsa since 2009.

Michelle received a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of St. Louis. As a newly board- certified nurse practitioner, she immersed herself in the management and coordination of care for countless Tulsa area assisted living and long-term care facility patients. Michelle then changed course and entered the challenging field of helping patients living with chronic pain. Her cumulative clinical experiences, including prior nursing work in cardiology, oncology, wound care, and case management, paved a natural path into Rheumatology. Michelle enjoys providing a more holistic and comprehensive approach to the healthcare challenges often complicating the care of rheumatologic patients.

She then returned to her seat as a student at OU-Tulsa School of Community Medicine, graduating in 2018 with a degree in Physician Assistant Studies, pursuing a career in Rheumatology. Vanessa Zickefoose, APRN-CNP, obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma with a focus in Family Nurse Practitioner in 2020. Before making the switch to Rheumatology, she worked as a Family Practice Provider in the Tulsa area, providing comprehensive preventative care for patients of all ages. It was here that she discovered the need for Rheumatology providers in the Tulsa area and decided to take on this role. Prior to working as an APRN, Vanessa obtained her Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma. Working as an RN in a Level II Trauma Center laid the ground work to effectively provide compassionate care and manage the complex Rheumatic diseases processes faced by our patients. In her free time, Vanessa enjoys spending time outdoors riding the side-by-side, hiking, and kayaking with her husband Codey and toy Aussie, Jo. She also competes in a weekend sand volleyball league and enjoys spending time with friends and family.
